For me San Diego is one of the prettiest places in the USA. The contrast between the city and beach areas makes for almost 2 separate cities to explore. The weather is also pretty much the most temperate in the world.

Top Gun Bar

The Kansas City BBQ Bar in San Diego was home to a few scenes from the classic film Top Gun (think Goose and Maverick on the piano, The Righteous Brothers on the jukebox), and it is a bar I've spent many a drunken night in during my two trips to San Diego.

It's easy to find, cheap to drink in, and full of film memorabilia. If you love the film you should definitely come here!

San Diego Zoo is one of the most famous zoos in the world. If you like zoos then you will like it here, if you are more of a safari person then this might not be for you. It did feature in the film Anchorman however - if you are a film buff who likes to visit film locations.
